  • The company specializing in the distribution of temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products expects to double its market share in the first year.

Madrid, October 3, 2023.- Eurotranspharma, a leading company in the exclusive transport of last-mile temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products, is strengthening its network in Europe by opening direct offices in Spain. Belonging to the Walden Group, Eurotranspharma has its own pan-European network comprising 48 transport platforms, 6 hubs and 1,200 employees in nine countries (now including Spain).

After the recent opening of offices in the Romania and Germany, Spain is now the ninth country where Eurotranspharma has a direct presence, as it is a strategic market due to the presence of large national and international laboratories with commercial interests in Spain and the rest of Europe.

“Eurotranspharma arrives in Spain with great experience and quality, and with two additional advantages for the sector: we work exclusively with pharmaceutical products at controlled temperatures (2-8°C / 15-25°C), and with a unique pan-European transport network fully compliant in Good Distribution Practices (GDP) that provides customers with a reliable operator throughout the European market,” says Sergio Paredes, Eurotranspharma Spain General Manager.

Market share

Eurotranspharma starts its activity in Spain using a storage and transport hub in Numancia de la Sagra (Toledo), 14 distribution platforms throughout Spain and just over 100 last mile vehicles.

Eurotranspharma Spain will provide services to 17 clients from the pharmaceutical transport and logistics sectors, with a turnover of approximately 12-13 million euros in 2023. The company aims to significantly increase its direct and indirect staff in its first year, and to expand its volume of operations to a 10% share, becoming the leading specialized player in the market.

Eurotranspharma’s network already covers the whole of mainland Spain, plus the island territories and Ceuta and Melilla. The company intends to open at least two new distribution hubs next year (one located in Madrid), in addition to creating a central hub to act as the main logistics hub for the entire national territory from 2025.

As Benoît Latteur, CEO of Eurotranspharma, points out, “with this announcement, we continue to expand our offering in Europe, a rapidly evolving market with increasingly demanding needs in terms of medical device supply. We are delighted to open an office in Spain, which is a strategic location for the whole of Europe due to its supply capacity and export potential”.
