Eurotranspharma is developing its infrastructure and investing in new tools to meet the growing demands of its customers.

As the leading European carrier 100% dedicated to the transport of health products, and compliant with Good Distribution Practices, Eurotranspharma has been developing a transformation plan for its infrastructure in France since the beginning of 2020, with the aim of further improving its quality of service, traceability, and the safety of the health products it handles. This involves construction, upgrading the pharmaceutical vehicle fleet, and the deployment of new digital tools.

With a national network of 19 warehouses, including 4 hubs 100% dedicated to health products and controlled temperature, Eurotranspharma has chosen to invest in its buildings in order to modernise them, to increase its operational capacities in 15/25°C, and to have operating areas entirely under controlled temperature to meet the strong demand of its customers. The increase of the operating surface in controlled temperature is a key asset of the Eurotranspharma network, ensuring the safety of the health products in transit in the hubs and warehouses.

Following the renovation of the Créteil branch in March 2020, it is now the Dijon branch’s turn to get a facelift, with both the modernisation of the existing infrastructure and the construction of an extension. The Dijon branch’s operating area will be increased from 500m² to 1,525m² under temperature control in 2/8°C and 15/25°C.

In operation now since June 21, 2021, this new structure also allows Eurotranspharma to strategically reinforce its presence in the Jura and Saône and Loire departments. 6 other renovation and construction projects are planned between now and the end of 2022.

In addition, the modernisation of the Eurotranspharma network is taking into account the implementation of innovative digital solutions such as :

– “consignee certification”, which allows secure delivery directly to the patient using a unique code,
– the implementation of the “control tower”, a device allowing the centralised monitoring in real time of temperatures on all vehicles and different systems, the creation
– an e-learning platform to reinforce the current training in good practices for the distribution of pharmaceutical products, as well as quality monitoring for all of the network’s participants.
– The final digital solution is Atlas, a European TMS, validated by GDP, supporting all of Eurotranspharma’s loading, planning, sorting, delivery, monitoring, and traceability operations for all movements.
In addition, Eurotranspharma is working on an environmental transition plan with the acquisition of several vehicles running on Bio CNG (Bio gas from methanisation).

All these modernisations are in line with the increasingly high requirements of the Good Distribution Practice applied in pharmaceutical distribution, and particularly needed during the transport of Covid or Flu vaccines, the campaign for which will start soon.
